Father's Day

Father's Day is a special day, set aside to show the father's in your life how much they mean to you.  But what's a daughter to do when her father passed away? Celebrate him anyways.

My Dad wasn't just a father, he was a complex man, who loved freely, had loyalty to the bone, and told it like it was. He was a rare man, in this world of political correctness, and polite society (much to my Mom's Mom's displeasure! :P).  Being his daughter was not always easy, but in the end, he was an effortless Dad.

He will be missed, but always loved.

Now...my husband is a father too. Even when he doesn't think it, he is. When you desire children so much, and receive one, losing the child doesn't stop the instincts, the love, the passion of being a parent. If anything...it intensifies it, sharpens the focus, make more moments sweeter.

So, not only is today about my Dad, it's about my Husband.

Happy Father's day to you both.
