Dear Newtown, CT

My heart is heavy, at the losses you've suffered yesterday. No words will ever accurately reflect the grief and sorrow that I feel for you, knowing a little of what you're going to be facing in the days, weeks, and months to come. Too many lives lost way before their time. Too many questions, that will remain unanswered.

I have prayed for you. I will continue to pray for you. This journey is just beginning for you, and it's a tough one. Long as well. It has changed you and your family forever, and while the initial grief may subside in time, you'll still feel the absence in your family.

I want to encourage you, give you hope. Hope that someday, your sorrow will ease. Someday, your grief won't be so heavy on your shoulders. Someday, you'll smile and laugh again. Someday, you'll be able to think, talk and look without crying.

I promise you, someday will come. But right now, you must walk through the valley of grief first. I pray that you look to God for your source of comfort. It's not easy, either. I know. I've been there. It's easy to blame God.

Though I don't know you, I think of you and want to give you a something for you. Just be there.

May God hold you all close, and give you peace and comfort.
